Dennis Quaid’s wife petitions divorce for the second time
Sixty-two-year-old actor Dennis William Quaid and his wife, real estate broker Kimberly Buffington-Quaid, are in the process of divorcing.
Buffington-Quaid filed divorce papers in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday, June 28, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting spousal support.
In a joint statement given to TMZ, the couple said, “After careful consideration, we have decided to end our 12-year marriage. The decision was made amicably and with mutual respect toward one another. We will always remain great friends and devoted partners in raising our children.”
Buffington-Quaid had formerly filed a divorce petition in March 2012 in Texas but she withdrew the request two months later. She and Quaid are parents of twins, eight-year-old Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace.
Quaid was formerly married to 54-year-old actress Margaret Mary Emily Anne “Meg” Hyra, professionally known as Meg Ryan, with whom he shares custody of their 24-year-old son Jack, from 1991 to 2001.
