Twenty-three-year-old visual artist Frances Bean Cobain is fighting her ex-husband, 31-year-old musician and member of the rock band The Eeries, Isaiah Silva, over the guitar of her father and musician Kurt Donald Cobain, who is most well-known for being the frontman of the 90’s grunge band Nirvana.
The guitar under discussion has been featured in Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance in 1993 in New York City. Its possession is at the center of Cobain and Silva’s divorce, as Cobain denies having given it to Silva as a gift, entertainment news network TMZ reported.
Frances Bean Cobain is the sole child of Kurt Cobain and 52-year-old musician, actress, and visual artist Courtney Michelle Love, who is most well-known for being the frontwoman of 90’s alternative rock band Hole. Frances Bean Cobain secretly married Silva in 2014 after being with him for five years; they got divorced in March 2016.

If an individual going through a divorce reveals information about a new job or a big bonus via email or text message, the information can be used as evidence that the individual was not entirely truthful about financial assets. Information that has not been divulged prior to the discovery of the electronic message, such as an email or text message, can be admitted in court and can be subpoenaed.
Posting on social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, can be detrimental to a lying husband or wife. If one posts about a new job or expensive vacation while filing for alimony in court, the post can be discovered by the opposing attorneys and lead to a denied request.

Forty-three-year-old American actress Gwyneth Paltrow and 39-year-old Coldplay front man Chris Martin officially ended their 12-year marriage after a judge in Los Angeles signed their divorce petition on Thursday, July 14.
The judge did not provide much detail about the divorce agreement, but it was clear that neither Martin nor Paltrow are obligated to pay the other spousal support. Paltrow and Martin tied the knot in December 2003. They share two children together, 12-year-old Apple, who was born in London, and 10-year-old Moses, who was born in New York. The former couple made a public announcement in March 2014 that they planned on separating, a process they described as “conscious uncoupling”. The announcement first appeared on Paltrow’s lifestyle website, Goop.

A shortage of foster homes in the state of Texas left over two dozen children statewide to spend at least two nights sleeping in state offices in April 2016. In March, 42 children stayed the night in a child welfare office. New figures on where the state houses children were first reported by the Austin-American Statesman.
A representative from the Austin-based non-profit organization Texans Care for Children said that if there were fewer caseloads, more time would be allocated to finding more appropriate shelters for children. United States District Judge Janis Graham Jack said the fact that there are 30,000 children in homes and institutional settings makes the system “broken”, and that it is “especially true for those labeled permanent wards of the state” who “almost uniformly leave state custody more damaged than when they entered.” For his part, Family and Protective Services commissioner John Specia said, “Every failure hurts and must be scrutinized so we can learn.”

Twenty-four-year-old Brownwood resident Dedra Crider, who was indicted in 2014 for allegedly hurting her infant son, was ordered back to prison by Brown County Court-at-Law Judge Sam Moss, who is the sitting judge of the 35th District Court, after Crider violated the terms of her bond.
Moss had Crider rearrested on Thursday, April 21 and increased her bail from $25,000 to $75,000. This ruling came after it was found by officials that Crider had not only been using marijuana and methamphetamine, but also leaving her home while under house arrest.
Crider received an indictment in November 2014 for allegedly hurting her infant son by “shaking the child or throwing the child or causing blunt force trauma”. Said infant was taken from her custody when he was five-months-old, court records showed.

On Aug. 18, 2015, a trial court separated a divorce suit from the suit affecting the parent-child relationship at the request of the wife involved in the divorce proceeding. She claimed her request was due to her need to buy a house, telling the court that she could not proceed as long as the divorce was pending.
Under the Texas Family Code, if those involved with a divorce proceeding are parents of a child who is not under the continuing jurisdiction of another court, the divorce petition must have a suit affecting the parent-child relationship.
The Dallas Court of Appeals understands that under the Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 41, a trial court has wide discretion in ruling on a motion to sever a suit affecting a parent-child relationship from a divorce suit. However, the appeals court found on Wednesday, April 6, that severing an SAPCR from the divorce suit negates provisions mandated by the family code, and thereby ruled that the severance was an abuse of indiscretion.
